Effective date: October 3, 2026
Terms version: LPC-TOS-2026-10-03
These terms apply to Laguna Parental Controls, a service of User Friendly Computer Services (collectively, “Laguna Parental Controls,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). “Customer” and “you” mean the adult who requests, purchases, or authorizes the service.
Agreement and acceptance
By checking the required agreement box at checkout, placing an order, or approving a written estimate that incorporates these terms, you confirm that you had an opportunity to review and agree to these Terms and Service Policies and the Privacy Policy. The terms version identified at the time of purchase governs that order unless we and you later agree otherwise in writing.
Service scope
We provide configuration, testing, education, and troubleshooting for parent-controlled device, account, game, streaming, purchase, and home-network settings. The agreed scope may be documented in an estimate, appointment confirmation, or order. Unless a separate written agreement expressly says otherwise, each purchase is a one-time service and does not include continuous monitoring, supervision, content review, emergency response, or automatic maintenance after completion.
Parent or guardian authorization
The person requesting service represents that they are a parent, legal guardian, device owner, account owner, or otherwise authorized to approve the requested changes. We may decline work when authority or consent is unclear.
Credentials and private content
Customers should retain control of passwords, passcodes, recovery methods, and one-time codes and enter them personally whenever practical. We do not request that customers send credentials through forms, email, or text. We do not provide a service to read children’s private messages or personal content.
No guarantee of complete protection
Parental-control tools have technical limits. They may fail, be bypassed, stop syncing, reset, misclassify content, or behave differently across accounts, devices, apps, browsers, networks, cellular connections, VPNs, guest modes, or private-relay features. A setting that works when tested may later change after a password, account, device, app, operating-system, firmware, router, subscription, or vendor-policy update.
No filter, monitoring feature, purchase control, schedule, or configuration blocks every risk or prevents every workaround. We do not guarantee that a child will be prevented from seeing inappropriate content, communicating with an unwanted person, making an unauthorized purchase, disclosing information, experiencing a privacy or security issue, or exceeding a desired screen-time limit. Our services do not replace active adult supervision, family rules, education, emergency services, medical or mental-health care, law enforcement, or other professional help.
Customer’s ongoing responsibilities
The customer decides whether each setting is appropriate for the family, supervises device use, maintains control of adult accounts and recovery methods, and regularly reviews and tests the configuration. At a minimum, the customer agrees to inspect and test the controls monthly and promptly after any password or account change, software or firmware update, factory reset, new or replacement device, new app, network change, subscription change, family-account change, or unexpected behavior. More frequent checks may be appropriate for the customer’s circumstances.
Testing should include confirming that the correct child account is assigned, attempting a representative blocked website or app, checking schedules, testing purchase approval and communication or privacy settings, and confirming that the parent override works. Follow-up support, reconfiguration, or future compatibility work is separately purchased unless the written service description expressly includes it.
Completion and customer verification
Service is complete when the agreed work has been performed, demonstrated, and reasonably tested on the included devices or accounts. The customer agrees to participate in the handoff, review the demonstrated settings, and promptly report any mismatch with the agreed scope. A successful test at completion confirms only the observed result at that time; it is not a promise of future performance.
Pricing and additional work
Published prices apply to the stated scope. Family Setup includes up to two children, four devices, and two onsite hours. Additional work is $145 per hour and requires customer approval. Custom projects may carry a two-hour minimum. Third-party subscription or hardware costs are separate and require customer approval.
Scheduling and cancellation
Customers should provide reasonable notice when rescheduling. A cancellation or no-show fee may apply only when disclosed during booking. Service credits and promotional follow-ups have no cash value and must be used within the stated period.
Remote access and testing
Remote support is used only with the customer’s participation and permission. The customer can end a remote session at any time. Testing may temporarily block apps, websites, purchases, or internet access on the devices included in the appointment.
Third-party services
Apple, Google, Microsoft, internet providers, router makers, app developers, game platforms, Stripe, WooCommerce, and other third parties control their own products and policies. We are not responsible for a third party’s outage, account decision, product change, or data practice.
Limited service warranty
We will perform the agreed service with reasonable care. Except for that commitment and any express written promise in the order, we do not make an implied or express warranty that any product, service, setting, or configuration will be uninterrupted, error-free, impossible to bypass, compatible with future changes, or produce a particular outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Laguna Parental Controls and User Friendly Computer Services will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages; loss of data or use; unauthorized purchases; exposure to content or communications; third-party acts; or a feature that is later changed, bypassed, or no longer functions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for an ordinary claim arising from a specific service will not exceed the amount the customer paid us for that specific service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, willful injury, or unlawful conduct. Some rights and remedies may vary by jurisdiction.
Severability and no waiver
If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the fullest extent permitted by law. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms by posting a revised effective date and version identifier. A later version will not retroactively change a completed order unless we and the customer agree otherwise. Questions can be sent to alex@userfriendlyoc.com or by text to 949-204-9923.
